Biography:

Nathalie Kertesz is a Barcelona-based visual artist, architect, curator, and cultural activist working at the intersection of memory, diaspora, and urban space. Her research focuses on cultural heritage, identity, and the politics of memory, with particular attention to how these are embedded and negotiated within material contexts.

Her practice combines archival research, visual storytelling, and site-based inquiry, engaging with the ways in which traces of the past persist, transform, and become visible within the contemporary city. She also works with textile as a living material in dialogue with architecture, treating it as a surface that absorbs, registers, and rearticulates traces over time.

She is the founder and artistic director of LABA Barcelona, where she collaborates with artists engaged in text, memory, and cultural transmission.
